Weekend and beyond

Well the weekend flew by as usual.
We went to the farmers market on Saturday morning, which was buzzing, then off to Crystal Palace to watch some Olympic weightlifting! Why I hear you cry? Well, our youngest daughter, who is co-owner of a CrossFit gym in Hove, was competing, along with her protege Jan (pronounced Yan) who was lifting for the first time. Both of them did themselves, me and Granpagrunt very proud.
Lazy morning on Sunday, then we took ourselves off to Southsea near Portsmouth just to take a look. It seems most refined and had it not been quite so chilly we would have had a long walk by the sea. Although the sun was glistening on the calm sea I would have needed thermals to venture out - note to self - buy some!
We are making a list of places we would like to visit throughout the winter; so far we have The Butser Ancient Farm, The Roman Villa in Hampshire, Sattchi Gallery and the Queen Elizabeth Country Park. Should anybody read this  blog and have any suggestions it would be much appreciated. We are happy to travel anywhere within about 100 miles of London and are interested in more or less anything. We went to the John Soames museum last winter for the first time, which I would thoroughly recommend. There is such an eclectic array of  exhibits on view each with a very interesting history.  Also Gilbert Whites house near Winchester; lovely house -not to big in a chocolate box village, beautiful gardens and cream teas to die for! Oh my hips !!
I think in the future I will try to make this my daily diary then I will see just how boring life is and at last do something about it!!
