Weekend and beyond

Well the weekend flew by as usual.
We went to the farmers market on Saturday morning, which was buzzing, then off to Crystal Palace to watch some Olympic weightlifting! Why I hear you cry? Well, our youngest daughter, who is co-owner of a CrossFit gym in Hove, was competing, along with her protege Jan (pronounced Yan) who was lifting for the first time. Both of them did themselves, me and Granpagrunt very proud.
Lazy morning on Sunday, then we took ourselves off to Southsea near Portsmouth just to take a look. It seems most refined and had it not been quite so chilly we would have had a long walk by the sea. Although the sun was glistening on the calm sea I would have needed thermals to venture out - note to self - buy some!
We are making a list of places we would like to visit throughout the winter; so far we have The Butser Ancient Farm, The Roman Villa in Hampshire, Sattchi Gallery and the Queen Elizabeth Country Park. Should anybody read this  blog and have any suggestions it would be much appreciated. We are happy to travel anywhere within about 100 miles of London and are interested in more or less anything. We went to the John Soames museum last winter for the first time, which I would thoroughly recommend. There is such an eclectic array of  exhibits on view each with a very interesting history.  Also Gilbert Whites house near Winchester; lovely house -not to big in a chocolate box village, beautiful gardens and cream teas to die for! Oh my hips !!
I think in the future I will try to make this my daily diary then I will see just how boring life is and at last do something about it!!
Tatty bye

Virgin Territory

This is my first ever attempt at bloggiing  and I am not too sure what, if anything, I will find to say, but hopefully something will happen for me to report on.
My main issue at the moment is searching for wallpaper. I have checked every website I can find looking for the perfect paper, but so far no luck. Well I did find one which was a £140.00 a meter but the Old Man wouldn't have it - not too sure why!!!
We are off to our favourite Farmers Market (known from now as FM's) near to home tomorrow, which is in Twickenham.. We so love shopping this way; as we get to chat to the producers about their food and generally have some good 'craic'. We certainly spend far less money than when we shop in supermarkets and do not throw away anything like the amount of food we used to. I recommend it. This one just happens to be in a car park so we don't even have to walk more than 10 paces to get shopping - result! After shopping we go to the local 'greasy spoon' for breakfast where all the Saturday regulars meet; engage in some banter with staff re: football Ugh! Great feeling of community.
Til the next time.................
